Part of Andrea Zucchini’s exhibition ‘Alchemical Studies’ Dr. Georgiana Hedesan will held a presentation entitled ‘Stars Above and Below: Alchemy as ‘Lower Astronomy’ in the Renaissance‘ at Tenderpixel Gallery. The event will include the launch of the Alchemical Studies publication by Tenderbooks/Tenderpixel.

For Tenderpixel's 2014 summer break, they turned over the gallery space to Andrea Zucchini, London-based artist. As a result of the residency he presents his work in a solo exhibition, Alchemical Studies, from 6 to 20 September. In his practice, Andrea Zucchini juxtaposes geological, cosmological and psychic processes, exploring how they are intertwined and can be accessed through one another. Using the notion of containment, he investigates the intimate correspondence between the micro- and macrocosm, alluding to them being analogous structures.

Dr. Hedesan is research fellow at Oxford University
