Romanian artist Laura Iosifescu participates in the goup show with I Know What I Like project at Curious Duke Gallery.

The physical presence of paint populates Laura Iosifescu’s creations, it takes over them and dominates them in wealthy, colourful accumulations. Laura understands her medium so well, that she found a way of giving it a life of its own, letting it take over and drive the creative process.
“I don’t see paint as a medium or a tool, but rather as a guiding force in my creations. It’s almost like the paint works through me, instead of me working through it”.
The two dimensions of Laura’s paintings grow rich in strata, spawning alternative geographies and an abundance of lush elements.  They reveal an active material imagination and an uncompromising vision for the future of the medium.
Laura was nominated for several national and international shortlists and awards, and has shown her work in group and solo shows in Europe and the US.

I Know What I Like is London's arts facilitation organisation, a fast growing community of street, urban and contemporary art lovers.
The model is based on the importance of encountering art in context, whether it be in a gallery, in public space or in a studio. We focus on street, urban and contemporary art, through activities like street art walks, opening nights at relevant galleries, artist talks and debates. Their aim is to facilitate artistic encounters in an active, casual and engaging manner.
